TIGER WOODS Commits — Will Play in 2015 Masters

Will He Make the Cut? In My Opinion, He’s Already Missed the Cut!

I saw an April Fool’s joke with the headline: TIGER WOODS RETIRES FROM PROFESSIONAL GOLF. For a moment, I believed his retirement forgetting the day it was written on. But I’m not fooling when I say Tiger well could announce his retirement and be better off. He could bow out of the game with a degree of gracefulness.

His more than dismal showings in tournaments this past several months is an indication he no longer can compete on the world stage. Whether it’s his physical ailments getting in the way or his mind — continual emotional mental car crashes resulting from being the subject of the worst sex scandal in the history of professional sports— or both, Tiger may never get close to his former self and he may never win another tournament.

However, he has committed to playing in the 2015 Masters at Augusta National. Whether he performs as the youngest “ceremonial” golfer to ever seek the green jacket, is anybody’s guess. One thing you can count on, of the millions watching, a large percentage will be rooting for him and a significant percentage won’t.

The golf media and media at large has given Tiger a “Pass” on his historic escapades of lying and cheating — to his wife, to his children, to his sponsors, to his business partners, to his fans. He does not get a “Pass” from me. The extent and longevity of lying and cheating do not warrant us forgetting that for several years he was a phony portraying an inauthentic, “holier-than-thou” image worth hundreds of millions of dollars to him.

To this day, in my opinion, he has not demonstrated sincere remorse for slapping his fans in the face — the very fans that made him a multi-multi millionaire.
